Tour Itinerary:
Before starting the half-day Wadi Rum jeep tour, you must first go through the Wadi Rum Visitor Centre, the gateway to the protected desert area. The center requires an admission fee (5 JD per person), which they waive for Jordan Pass holders. After the Visitor Centre, continue onward for about 6km to the Wadi Rum Village where I will greet you. From there I will take you to the Wadi Rum Rest House for a short rest and a cup of delicious Bedouin tea. We will chat with you about the day plans and outline them with a map. Once we have finished with tea, we will set off into the desert.
Our first stop is Lawrence’s Spring, followed by Khazali canyon where you can see some Nabatean and Thamudic inscriptions. After this, the tour continues to the Red sand dunes, the Anfishiyyeh inscriptiones, and Lawrence’s house which features some beautiful landscapes and mushroom rocks. A traditional bedouin desert lunch, the tour will proceed to an amazing sand stone arch known as Burdah Rock Bridge. Then the Abu Khashaba canyon and lastly the Um Fruth rock bridge.
Then we will bring you to our Bedouin camp in the middle of the desert for a feast of ‘Zerb’ – a traditional Bedouin dish of meat and vegetables cooked underneath the desert’s sand —and a night in Wadi Rum, under the bright desert stars. Please note: if you are vegetarian, vegan or have any other dietary requirements, we can still provide you with a delicious meal.
Following dinner, we will sit around a bonfire, converse and drink tea. Our guides may perform music for you with traditional Bedouin string instruments, the ‘ooud’ and ‘rababa.’ For your accommodations you’ll be given a private and spacious Bedouin tent woven with black sheep hair with all the necessary furnishings for a comfortable stay. All camps are equipped with clean bathrooms and kitchens where we prepare your meals.
Day 2:
Breakfast will be served around 7:30. After breakfast we will drive you back to the Rum Village, arriving around 8:30 am. If required, we would happily organize transport to your next destination! Also note that we can easily accommodate adding or rearranging parts of this tour.
